Plans for development During the years that it has been operating, Centre Innovations has evolved certain principles of work. We concentrate on making our activity most effective for those whom we are helping. We work systematically, regarding social problems as a complex, taking into consideration the psychological, medical, educational, and other aspects. While giving help to the child, we remember that it is best for him/ her to be in a family, therefore we strive to support families and help them cope with living difficulties. We try to actively respond to the actual needs of the family and child, and therefore put the emphasis on new social technologies and innovative approaches. At this stage we aim to intensify work in the following areas: w Children’s rights; w Prevention of smoking and drug addiction among children and adolescents; w Prevention of HIV / AIDS infection; w Strengthening relations with business organisations that work in St. Petersburg. Today we are seeking partners for work in these spheres: w Support for migrant families with children; w Work in the sphere of children’s rights; w Prevention of asocial behaviour among deaf and hearing-impaired children; w Development of international cooperation.
